Only parents create accounts

Children cannot sign themselves up. A parent or guardian creates the account, confirms their email address, and adds each young author. Nothing is collected from a child before a parent has done this.

What we collect about a child

• First name and grade
• The stories they write
• Writing activity — word counts, and when they wrote

What we never ask for

Last name, address, phone number, date of birth, photographs, school name, or location. We don’t use advertising trackers, and we never sell or share a child’s information.

We keep what your child writes

The editor saves continuously, and it keeps earlier versions — including text your child deleted. This is deliberate: it means a story can never be lost, and it lets us see genuine work. It also means anything typed into the editor is stored, so please remind your child not to type personal details such as an address or phone number.

Publishing is a separate permission

Creating an account does not give us permission to publish anything. Sharing a story in the YMT newsletter requires your explicit, separate consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Published stories are credited by first name and grade only — never a full name, photograph, or location.

Your rights as a parent

At any time you may review everything your child has written, delete any story or the entire account, withdraw permission to publish, or stop the progress emails. Email Author@ymtseries.com and we will act on it.
