Write your own YMT chapter
Choose a grade, choose the kind of story you want to tell, and start writing. If Aaron picks your chapter, it goes out in the weekly newsletter.
Opening soon
We’re building this now. Here’s how it will work.
- 1
A parent sets up the account
A parent signs up with their email address and confirms it. Children don't create their own accounts.
- 2
Add your young author
First name and grade — that's all we ask for. Parents choose separately whether a story may ever be shared.
- 3
Pick a grade, a type, and a chapter
Happy, scary, sad, funny, or a story with a lesson. Then choose which chapter you'd like to write.
- 4
Write — and use the real characters
The editor saves as you go, so nothing is ever lost. Drop in characters from the books and see what they're like.
- 5
Send it in
Aaron reads every story. If yours is chosen, it goes out in the YMT newsletter.
For parents
You create and control the account. Nothing your child writes is published anywhere without your explicit permission, stories are credited by first name and grade only, and you can read or delete your child’s work at any time.
